American Mast Climbers // About Us

Who are we, what do we rent and what’s so special about us?

American Mast Climbers is primarily a rental company, of personnel & material hoist’s as well as mast climbing scaffolds with the distinction of manufacturing all of our products in-house, that’s right, we’re a US manufacturer, nothing foreign made here.

While we do sell everything we rent, our focus is as a rental company and always has been. To that end, everything we do is in an effort to be the best rental company in the business.

For that reason, we became a manufacturer because it allowed us to build a better product; we knew so well the shortcomings of all the similar products on the market. For example, it also allowed us to control deliveries and inventories of parts, so that we never have to tell our customer, “it’s on back order”, because now, we build it all. And because a large part of what we do requires custom tailoring equipment to fit a customers needs, it allows us the flexibility to make those modifications as and when needed, speeding up the process significantly by being in control of process. * see KHK modifications and photos.

What is the difference between a Personnel & Material Hoist and a Mast Climbers?

A Personnel and or material hoist is similar to an elevator you have no doubt ridden in, in a building of 3 stories or taller. It carries men and materials to a desired elevation, generally located on the outside face of a building, to perform their respective trades on the various levels on the interior of the building. They can travel at speeds of 125 ft/pmin to 300 ft/pmin and greater.

A mast climber, is a form of scaffolding designed to take men and material to a desired height or floor level to do work typically on the exterior of a building, I say typically, because doing work on the interior or elevator shafts or convention center ceilings is not uncommon and these are all inside applications. These machines generally travel at speeds ranging from 25-35 ft/pmin. *See photos below

What exactly is it that AMC does?

We rent a number of types of hoisting equipment, such as personnel and material hoist’s and we rent mast climbing scaffolds.

We work with the customer to 1st understand the job requirements, and then design and engineer a combination of systems which will serve to solve the customers specific issues. We then handle everything from implementation through erection of the system to the maintenance for the duration of the project, and finally the dismantle and removal of the system, to insure a seamless transition for the customer.

Once we’re involved, we handle such things as:
    • coordinating power requirements with the electrical contractors,
    • shipping & receiving with the General Contractor
    • as well as the machines layout drawings for everyone involved in the project and
    • engineering and shop drawings when required for whomever might be needing them,
    • coordinating things such as wall penetrations or tie points

Thereby taking the concern for these issues off of the client.

Where are we located and what areas do we service?

We’re based in Whitney , Texas . We chose this specific area because of its demographics. We’re 75 miles S. of Dallas and Ft. Worth, about 2 ½ hours N. of Austin and San Antonio and 3 ½ hours N.W. of Houston, centrally located in the heart of Texas , but equally as important, centrally located in the middle of the US .

And, while we’re a growing company with regional sales representatives in Dallas/Ft.Worth, Houston, Pensacola FL and New Orleans, LA serving the South Eastern US, and don’t presently call on areas outside the SE, we go where our customers need us, from Billings Montana to Reno Nevada, St Louis Missouri to Greenville N. Carolina, _____, Pennsylvania, ______ New Mexico, just as a few examples.
